Paa Kow, the internationally respected Ghanaian drummer, composer, and bandleader, has died in Ghana.
Renowned for blending traditional West African rhythms with jazz, funk, and contemporary global music, Paa Kow was a visionary artist and cultural ambassador. As the leader of his group Paa Kow’s Afro-Fusion Orchestra, he brought a modern expression of Ghanaian musical heritage to audiences around the world, earning wide acclaim for his deep groove, technical mastery, and unmistakable musical voice.
Throughout his career, Paa Kow performed internationally, collaborated across genres and continents, and was deeply respected as a mentor and teacher. Beyond his musicianship, he was known for his generosity of spirit, humility, and commitment to uplifting others through music.
He is remembered as a loving father, a cherished friend, and a pillar of his community, whose influence extended far beyond the stage.
